As an integral component of UHS, Prominence can leverage partnerships with local UHS-affiliated health systems to provide our members with access to high-quality, compassionate patient care through statewide networked arrangements. This includes the Northern Nevada Health System and the entire Valley Health System in the south. Both systems continue to thrive in their respective markets with ongoing growth in both regions. Additionally, Prominence is contracted with networked hospitals in rural locations.
The Valley Health System is an integrated system of care in Las Vegas and Southern Nevada comprised of acute care hospitals, physician practices and a variety of outpatient services. Since 1979, they have been providing care to the more than two million people living in Southern Nevada and its surrounding communities.
All six Valley Health System hospitals are accredited by The Joint Commission for meeting performance standards for delivering safe, high-quality care. Acute care hospitals hold national certifications in stroke and heart attack care, and they consistently earn recognition from the American Heart Association® and American Stroke Association® for meeting or exceeding national standards for heart and stroke care.
The Valley Health System hospitals also consistently earn national quality awards for services such as wound care, orthopedics, maternity care, weight-loss surgery and more.
Northern Nevada Health System is a regional multi-facility system that has excelled at offering quality care to residents of the greater Truckee Meadows. We have many locations across the region and in our rural communities. Northern Nevada Medical Center, a 124-bed acute care hospital in Sparks, is our flagship provider. A second hospital, Sierra Medical Center, opened in 2022. It is the first full-service hospital built in the region in over a century.
We also provide primary care services and a wide range of specialty care through Northern Nevada Medical Group. Our providers have locations throughout Reno and Sparks to serve the community.
